Reviews

Einsjager and Hohelied form something of a Vuh dyptich -- on both albums Fricke & co. locate an exact and exhilarating balance between the exquisite and the grandiose, leavening a tendency towards majesty with a grounding in simple modest beauty. Eastern influences (Al Gromer on sitar, Shana Kumar on tabla, etc.) are still present, and are still in the service of an intensely personal project in sacralizing music, or expressing devotion in sound. Daniel Fichelscher's guitar emanates power and grace in equal measure, and Djong Yun is as angelic as ever. Numinous in ways that mere description will never disclose. -MM

New Sonic Architecture catalogue

More liquid guitar and vocal interplay, blended with Sitar, Tablas and other acoustic instruments. The seventh album.

Delerium's Psychedelic Web

This album includes more of the same adaptations as Einsjager Und .. The music is beautiful with added help from Al Gromer (sitar) & Shana Kumar (tablas).

Cranium Music catalogue

6th album, from 1975 ("The Song of Soloman"). The first of two for United Artists, which were always very difficult to find later on. This takes the sound and line-up of the previous album, adds sitar and tabla and creates even more of a cosmic-power universe of transcending sound. "The music is also more earthy, ethnic and really full of emotion: the use of electronic effects (drones, echoey atmospherics), the addition of sitar and tabla on a couple of tracks really swell the sound out to new proportions."
